Forgive my ignorance, as I have always mashed in an Igloo cooler. But, with the direct fire method, why do you have to add a pump? Couldn't one stir with their mash paddle?

As it turns out... it was delicious! I kegged it, and took it (in my new kegerator) and it was a hit! They kicked the 5 gallon keg in about 2 hours. (Along with a keg of my American Wheat.)

A bit of an update. I've been letting it sit in the fermentor, and today I checked it. Looks fine, smells great! I'll be dry hopping soon, so will sample it then.
