Haven't had noticable loss in head retention with the coconut. Possibly a little bit but it is never anything I've noticed and haven't really looked at it as an issue since it hasn't been one so far.

Sorry I guess I should have specified, this is a sour Flanders red I have in the barrel. The barrel is a 60 gallon french oak barrel. It is not a small 5-10gallon oak barrel.
