That's what I'm thinking and I'm a starsan convert. She seems to want to go her own way on this so I guess we'll see how it pans out.

Hydrogen peroxide?

Anybody have any experience with this as a sanitizer? A friend of mine just started home brewing and I asked her about what she was using as a sanitizer and she said hydrogen peroxide. Not diluted...

The temps definitely altered my fermenting plans. It looks like I'm going to have to bust out the old swamp cooler for the Oaked Imperial Whiskey stout I'm brewing today.

I've always read on here that the temperature...

I've always read on here that the temperature inside the fermentor will be pretty close (+2 degrees) if not the same as the water temperature on the outside.

I have no personal experience to back...

I'm not entirely sure on that one. I use hop bags for my hops and leave them in until I get my ice water bath set up and then out they come.

Throwing the sludge in is up to you. Some people whirlpool and strain to avoid it and others dump the whole pot, sludge and all, into the fermenter. Personally I favor the latter approach.
