Just thought I'd note since I do smaller batches of 1-3 gallons that I don't soak my bottles in sanitizer. It seems faster...

This is awesome advice. I found my tube fits loosely on my auto siphon, so that could be an issue. Just want to keep everything as zen as possible.

Time to go to the LHBS and get some new tubing....

Grats! One gallon is super easy to get full boil, full utilization. It's a little time consuming for not much beer but its also much cheaper and low risk :)

Update in the weakest beer ever: tried one again after bottling for a week. It's not stronger but it tastes a bit more drinkable. Time seems to heal most things.

I'm always scared to pour back in but I really hate racking and finding out I only have enough to fill half a bottle or so at the end. Luckily I bought star San so this should be less of an issue now.

Oxyclean free takes the labels right off bottles. Use half a cup per gallon or so, I use hot water. Rinse thoroughly!! Then jut sanitize...

I recently bottled a 1 gallon batch (beginner here) and all my bottles are gushing. I'm fairly sure I hit the amount of priming sugar for 1 gallon (about 2/3 cup of sugar split between two gallons)...

I didn't bother to backsweeten. Took a reading and got just above 1 on the hydrometer and decided since they ferment out a bit lower than 1 that I could just bottle it now and get a low carb on it....
