Since I already bottle pasteurize all my cider...

Since I already bottle pasteurize all my cider I'm going to backsweeten with brown sugar to taste then bottle. When the test bottle passes the squeeze test I'll pasteurize and see how much sweetness...

Interesting idea. What are the points of each and water is 212. You'd have to walk the fine line of maintaining the temp between the two for a length of time throughout the batch. Seems difficult.

If u jack 5 gal and get 2 gal. Approx same in 12 oz of cider as 5 oz of jack. So if u usually drink the two 12 oz ciders only drink two 5 oz jacks.

There are some 16oz-22oz capped bottles out there. I use the green bottles Italian sparkling water comes it. The labels remove easily and they don't look like anything in a beer or wine store.

Add enough sugar to sweeten and prime then pasteurize to stop when at the desired carbonation. Or sweeten with nonfermentable such as Splenda then prime and bottle

Is it producing a lot of krausen? I've heard it does in beer. But champagne yeast in cider has produced none in my experience.

I'm thinking 1.010 as semi-dry and 1.020 as semi-sweet. If that makes any sense. Ballpark I'm thinking it will take 2-3 pounds of sugar to get there.
