This seems way more complicated than just saving a bit of the original starter. Do what works for you, sure, but despite your promise, it doesn't change how I think about yeast harvesting.

Pretty much. I like that everyone wants to cite Heady as being cloudy but doesn't give mention to PtE, which is fined with gelatin at the brewpub.

Agree with signpost. Planning liquid yeast a day before on 10 gallons isn't the smartest idea unless you're willing to shell out the cash for multiple packs.

Second, we're talking about an IIPA, not just a run-of-the-mill beer. Pliny, Enjoy By, Heady, etc are all in excess of 12 oz hops at the 5 gallon...
