Yeah we have special gutters for spilled beer and daiquiris, so as not to overload the drainage system.

Not sure, but I have been using one and noticed that the temp on my carboy tape thermometer is a bit higher than the thermometer I keep floating in the swampwater. I guess that points to "yes".
