Trying this one for the umpteenth time. Gonna experiment a little and use Antwerp Ale yeast and add 1/2 lb of munich. I have a buddy who wants it a little more malty.

when I first saw the title of the thread I said...

when I first saw the title of the thread I said to myself " fermentation temperature" but 65 should be ok. It might be your water.

I want to make a Belgian wit and have lots of rahr red wheat malt. Can I use that? Is there a difference between that and white wheat malt?

Oi have never made a starter for a lager before. Should I run that a lower temperature? I guess it makes sense to do so, but I never thought about it before. Thanks

No problem. Every year I do a couple of gallon jugs that way. I don't even add yeast. (I can get my cider unpasturized). Its more dangerous but I've never had a bad one yet!

Just put up my last 5 gallons for the year. (I think) The cider mill is going to close next week so I'm probly done. Got my last batch for 4$ a gallon!!

carboy cleaner

I was just given a 6.5 carboy. It had ammonia in it. Theree is a brown line sidde of it that I cannot remove. It looks like someone poured Iodaphor into it. I can't for the life of me get it off....

Leave it where it is. Once it starts fermenting you will have a layer of CO2 it over to protect it. The less you move it the safer you are.
