I've never made one, and this one was not supposed to be an alt, instead it was supposed to be a cal common, but my misuse/mislabeling/misunderstanding of pale chocolate malt made it brown :)

beersmith has a refractometer calculator and it will put you in the ballpark with ABV. I have tested the same wort using a hydrometer and refractometer and they were very close to the same.
