I agree that boiling will remove the alcohol but I was under the impression it was just put in the fermentor. It'll take a day or so just for the yeast to multiply before the party really gets...

A local brewmaster told me he brews at 131, 144, 160. Depending on the style he varies the time at 144. So if a guy with a master's degree in brewing says 160 is ok I'd say it's good!

In Greg Noonan's book he talks about dry hopping and he agrees that it's good for IPA, APA etc. But for pilsners or lighter ales it's better to make a hop tea because it has a much better result...

I'm sure there are a lot of opinions on this but my 2 cents worth would say throw them in 3 days before you bottle/keg. That should give you the aroma without it getting grassy on you.
