once i added way too much gelatin to a 5 gallon...

once i added way too much gelatin to a 5 gallon batch (1 tbsp!) and I truly believe it messed up my head retention bigtime on my belgium tripel. but it was the clearest beer I've ever made.

From my experience my kettle (keggle) loses as much as 5 degrees Fahrenheit during a typical one hour mash. I don't insulate in any way here during a Texas summer. No way a cooler loses that much...
