+1 to the orange stopper in the post above. You can dry the rubber stoppers but they still slide up a bit. With this one you don't have to worry about them sliding up and popping out anymore.

For me it's the hops that hit the most, so if I'm making a beer that's low on hops like belgian blondes or trippels , etc it will be significantly cheaper than a very hoppy IPA with 8-12 oz of hops....

Haven't run into any yet. I've heard that some people don't like Citra or Sorachi Ace, but I see nothing wrong with them.

I've never used a false bottom so I can't say...
I've never used a false bottom so I can't say anything about that, but I use one of those "bazooka" screen tubes and never had a problem with it.

"Sour" smell, especially if it feels like it's burning your nose/eyes if you get a good whiff of it, could be CO2. Like others have said - wait and see, you're probably fine.

Mine is set to around 0.030 - haven't had any issues with stuck sparge. When I do BIAB I just double-crush instead of readjusting.
