Yes. The best equivalent is probably dark treacle, but the first refining of sugar produces a slight golden syrup that is likely to have been used as well.

I just attempted my take on this. Used organic Florida came sugar and made invert sugar with it. Also used willamette hops cause that's what I had on hand- boiled hops and bran together for an hour....

Just one gallon in the freezer to do some freeze concentrating and I'vegot 2.5 gallons about 2 weeks into fermentation. Smells delicious and the little sample I took of the 1 gallon was awesome.

I don't think it's undercarbed, but only 1.15 vol is a very low carb. Scottish styles tend to lean towards very little carb. Also, how long has it been since you bottled? 3 weeks is a minimum time...

I brew 4 gallon batches and just bit the bullet and got a 3 gallon keg from NB. Just poured my first pint from it! A key lime Belgian pale- turned out great!!
