+1 on buying a used, quality bike, then paying $100 for a shop to fix it up. I worked in a shop for 10 years, most bikes end up as dust collectors.

I use well oversized hop bags, don't see how that would have a huge effect in reducing isomerization. If you use pellets, I don't think they would clog the valve, it's sizeable and I've done it...
