Crushing their grains fine... but pulverizing them to a powder. I'd try brewing with pre-crushed grains to at least determine if that's part of the issue.

Update: I entered Truby in a local Cream Ale comp and it scored a 41, potentially taking first (haven't seen all the scores yet)!! That's the best score I've ever received on a beer... I don't enter...

The durability of the cheaper grain bags is definitely a huge drawback, they usually last me 10-12 batches before tearing... hence "cheap," I guess ;)
