Some people add it at high krausen to lessen the osmotic stress on the yeast to begin fermentation, but as long as you have healthy yeast and are not pushing above say 9% ABV, you should be fine...

Just as a follow up to my suggestion of WLP007, I took a hydro sample of the IPA I brewed on June 28th the other day: 1.012. This was down from 1.070. Roughly 83% AA. Nice and crisp.
