I like the pool idea and have thought of doing that in the winter. Right now my pool is 90 degrees and our tap water is 85 so I chill to about 90-95 then put the carboy into my chestfreezer...

Oops, I meant 3/16ths. My issue was an overcarbed keg. I bled off some gas and all is perfect now.

The only other beer I have done that uses rye is Edworts bee cave brewery rye IPA. Its delicious. I try to keep that one on tap often.

I was having the same problem since moving to a place with city water. I started treating my starsan water also and the problem went away on my last batch.
