So I have made mead and hard cider and they have both turned out great. For mead I use the JAOM recipe (stuck to the recipe at first and then substituted blueberries for oranges in another version)...

Dude thats way to much honey for even a 9 gal batch. It must taste like raspberry cough syrup. If your just starting out, want a low cost mead. Do the JAOM recipe. You can find it on this forum....

I think it was because it was cold. Lol may sound stupid but the colder the mead, the better it tastes to me. I put mine in the freezer one hour before I drink it.
