stiverp...what model/type of SSR are you using and what would be the control side voltage requirements of it? If it has a 4-20mA requirement, by the looks of the PDF the SSR should be wired to...

Well..I'm not so sure if it's that much of a safety issue but having the ability to turn off the element by the flick of a switch for whatever reason is very handy at times if needed during the brew...

According to Auber's specs the syl-2352 PID should be giving an output of 12v/DC. The 25amp and the 40 amp ssr's have an input requirement of 3-32v/dc to function correctly. Perhaps you have a faulty...
