Ammonia odor from yeast nutrient?

On a recent brew day, I added yeast nutrient and whirlfloc at the end of boil. I smelled a strong ammonia odor. Kind of freaked me out. Should I be concerned???

Thanks for the help guys. I will use smaller amounts of liquid, keep the refractometer at "normal" temps, and give it a minute or two to stabilize.
