i would be sure i had the ability to control fermentation temps before i invested in any of those three things ... after that i'd get a mill, then the stir plate then the scale imo

there's very little chance the yeast isn't working ... give it a week, get a hydrometer, and then ck. to see that it in fact did ferment ... and you don't have to wait 3 weeks for a beer to carb up...

I cant see a good freezer hurting the carpet ... I only get condensation inside mine ... you will want to protect it from spills though ... what might work nice for that is an office chair mat like...

Do you have a warm setting on your oven? ... if so will it fit in there? ... that's what I do but with my BK ... I don't think a cooler would be a problem though if the oven is just warm

im a lucky one with an oven that has a setting of 150 ... but i still shut it off half way thru the mash ... if i had a 170 setting i'd probably shut it off a third of the way thru ... temps going up...

Well if I gave a beer to an experienced beer drinker I wouldn't really question how they tried it .... and I would trust their opinions .... but its usually these bmc drinkers that seem actually...
