Soak Grains

Re-watching a BeerGeeks episode with Rogue. I gather that they soak their grains in the mash tun tun and bring it up to mash temp and hold for 45min. Anyone else do this? Seems little more simple.

Pump tape

Setting up my final pieces on my single tier. Chugger pumps with center inlets and screw on tri-clovers. I should use plumbers tape on these correct? If so, how often should I change the tape?

I'm going for the 20. It's the same circumference...

I'm going for the 20. It's the same circumference at the bottom, just 6.5 inches taller. No elements, use natural gas.

The yeast is being shipped in the box. Obviously it has bee at 80 degrees all weekend sitting in a warehouse or a truck :(
