Fermentation problem

Brewed an all grain braggot yesterday...fermentation was very aggresive and it came out the top of the airlock. I know I could do a blow off hose, but I have a better bottle carboy and not a glass...

if you are making a sparkling mead leave...

if you are making a sparkling mead leave headspace...if it's a still mead (no carbination) then up to the top is fine. If you make it sparkling I would use the absorbing caps.

Jasmin mead

A buddy wants to make our next mead a jasmin mead. Anyone have a recipe or ideas that we could try. :mug:

ok thanks...does anyone have an idea about using one or two beans for a 5 gallon batch. I don't want to overpower the beer with vanilla.

Adding vanilla beans to porter?

Brewed up a 5 gallon batch of porter. Going to do the same recipe this Sunday but want to make this a vanilla porter. when do i add the vanilla beans? Most advice is during secondary fermentation....

that happened to me...didn't know what was going...

that happened to me...didn't know what was going on so added it to the wort...needless to say beer tasted like band-aids!! Yeast was dead!!
