I've had some come out like that as well. Looks...

I've had some come out like that as well. Looks like wort to me. You can always transfer it off from the yeast to another carboy when it comes time to dry-hop it.

The key is to make sure not to raise the cold (ice bath) water level higher than the hot liquid in the flask/erlenmeyer. Doing so will increase the chance of breakage.

w/o markings it's a gamble.
