You can go cheaper and there are inexpensive "mills" out ther but you sound like you want quality, consistent crushes. Pony up the money for a good mill, it'll make you happy in the long run.

Do you guys mean the PID is reading 1 degree lower? Have you confirmed with a separate "mechanical" thermometer? PID's have adjustments and you can adjust to read the same as your HLT

How long has it been? My watermelon wheat took 2 weeks fermenting, 3 weeks carbing, and another two weeks before it got really good. I used "ben the brewman"s recipe
