Why would you do that? It eventually drops to the bottom. Seems like an unnecessary risk to me. Leave the fermenter closed.

Tried this solution but it still didn't fix the crashing. This is really annoying. I deleted app data, uninstalled, reinstalled, cleared cache, still crashing. Not sure what to do.

Also, if your tank runs out, any kegs connected without check valves could de-gas until pressure equalizes and beer completely goes flat. At least that's what I was told.

Yes, that is the right stuff. Also, as a side note, I learned that if you grow cilantro and it flowers and produces seeds, the seeds are actually coriander.
