Post pics if you can but I would not worry about a few leaves getting eaten. I would only spray as a last resourt! I used neem oil last year and it may have harmed my plants.

They grow fast bud!!! I wouldn't put them in anything smaller 5 gallon buckets but that is pushing it! Limiting root growth seems like a bad idea.

I grow my hops horizontally as well. This was the easiest/only way to grow hops and keep the FN HOA off my rear. So my setup is just 4 rubbermaid tubs filled with compost and topsoil with a hop plant...

Pesticides

Hold off on the pesticides until you are sure its needed. I damaged my hops last year trying to kill a few bugs that were eating the leaves... I would have been better off just letting them eat a few.
