Why do you boil the banana? I might be mistaken but in papazians brew book he said no to bring fruit to a boil and instead let it steep at 160-180degrees F ? I'm not really sure how wine works...

What happens if i mix two types of hops at the same time?

I'm brewing an imperial pale ale the grains are in the pic and the hops are all Columbus. Would it be wise to mix one ounce Columbus hops with half an ounce of cascade?

I tasted the batch and it tastes like beer. We moved it into another bucket and there was a lot of gunk at the bottom. So I am relieved to say that it DID ferment and it will be very drinkable....
