I've had this issue too, I chalked it up to a bad batch and have dumped the beer... I was using priming sugar since I was out of co2, since I am using co2 to dispense so I use to less of the priming...

I opened my last beer that I made just after Xmas 2011. So that's about 9 months and it was carbed just right. The flip bottles have a great seal.

Is that too long? I thought it was best to let the beer ferment and then rack it to a secondary to clear. Always thought letting the beer sit on the dead yeast was a bad thing?

Its good to strain the trub. I use the grain bags. Put the hops on the grain bags, knot the bag and snip it for the next time. It cuts down the filtering at the end.
