I checked the gravity this morning (Thursday, day 12) and it was at a 1.012. It is about 2 points more than what I'd expected but it appears that S-23 did a great job. It tastes good too!

OOPS! Frozen Kegs!

We recently had some -10 deg F weather here. My kegerator is in an unheated, unattached garage. I dug through the snow today and tried to draw a beer. It seems that my kegs froze in the kegerator....

Most of my extract kits have had a 60 minute boil but just as "jar1087" experienced, my Kolsch used a 45 minute boil. I've also read some other extract recipies that have shorter boiling times.
