If you are mashing, 2 row will convert itself and others. Too much aromatic and way too much crystal there. Special B is not typically in an IPA.

Thanks for the heads up on makingbeer source, picked up another pound. I didn't see anything about free shipping though. Oh well, $34 shipped is reasonable for this hop and to make sure I have enough...

I'm certain my drop was an infection, not a unfinished fermentation before bottling. No reason a PM pumpkin should ever get to 1.005.

bombs.

Just confirmed my own question. Dropped from 1.015 to 1.005. Time to replace some plastic and be more thorough on cleaning. Thought I was plenty clean though.

Yes, but considerably underage. I'm pretty pumped to brew this beer. Going to need to get a big starter going early this week. Excited to use the new homemade stirplate for the first time as well.

Shopping for the wife

Why is this relevant to beer you ask? The wife as part of her bday gift asked for a batch of beer to be made for her. Not some light or fruity beer, but one that is around 10% and 100 IBU. The rest...

Even with open cell foam stopper this will happen if you shake it hard after it has sat for a while. If you start shaking gently it will release enough CO2 through the foam to then shake it hard.

Fermenter blew off a ton of yeast. Can I harvest it?

I brewed a modified version of Yooper's 60min IPA DFH clone last Sunday. It had a OG of 1.075. I pitched 1056 (stepped up 2L starter from a smack pack) at about 70 deg. F and brought it down to about...
