I like the analog ones. No programming just turn...

I like the analog ones. No programming just turn the dial, and cheaper. Easy to raise temp for lagers over a couple of days. I have three different ones and I prefer the analog over all of them

80 degrees is nothing. Here in AZ its at least 90 out of the hose. I use a prechiller to a CFC.. Which still isn't enough.
I put in carboy and wait till out had hit 65 then pitch. Last wed it took...

I set at .033 on dial. Have no clue what that means but it works and I know my system.

His numbers are off though....

You have a stronger beer! I used to pay real good attention to that stuff but after 2 , years I take a reading and write it down. I am usually within 5 points. I am more concerned with fermentation...

If you want to increase eff try batch sparging..save some time also. Hell with sparging for 1 hour. Also next time your in lhbs see what mill is set at. You might want to double crush.

I measure water in mash tun then dough in..don't know why but just the way I have always done it...

Don't forget your false bottom though. It's a pain to install with a bunch of water in tun.
