I read through and searched all of this thread...

I read through and searched all of this thread and couldn't find any mention of the fact that this recipe is missing it's bittering hops.

Should be 7 AA Magnum for 60 min.

I contacted NB about the new MegaPot for some...

I contacted NB about the new MegaPot for some info and it's a lot thicker than the Tall Boy kettle. I believe the TB is 1.0mm thick and the 8 & 10 gallon MegaPot 1.2's will have 1.3mm thick...

I have a brewing buddy who did something similar, BUT he put his mash in the oven at 150* overnight and the next morning he had a perfect mash....haven't tasted the beer yet though.

I understand what you are saying, but this looks like a sanitizing/baterial mess. I don't want to add another step to my process. Insulating the lid looks like the best alternative here.
