I too have seen variations in the clarity and body of this beer. I chalk it up to different mash temps, variation in the boil, or variation in the yeast. I try to keep all of those factors constant...

Without sacrificing color, you could try mashing a little lower temp, or mashing for 90 minutes. Both that and using a large starter should result in a lower finishing gravity.

I don't really get a tang, but there should be a decent amount of malty sweetness to the beer. The orange peel usually is just enough to come out in the aroma and a little in the taste.

I'm glad it turned out well, sounds like everyone else around liked it too! I have to brew this every 4-6 weeks just to keep it on tap...and that's 10 gallon batches. Cheers!
