I used 1/8", but it is kind of fragile. Other have used 1/4" with a thicker wall with good results. I would go with 1/4 if I did it over again.

If it is difficult to start using any drill it isn't properly set. It is kinked. You have to make sure each side is set at the same gap. So GAO left then gap right.

I may have to put up what I have so far...but this BT for dummies is a lot work! It is a shame...because it is such a capable system. I still refer to it as my Brew Day Manager.

Some will get through. I have had good success with this method, but it takes patience letting the whirlpool settle. You still have to back flush the plate chiller or it would be pretty clogged...

I've used the same technique on all my kettles. The joint is very strong. I've never come close to dislodging it while torquing down on the couplers.

No. The smart HERMS dynamically sets the HLT temp based on what it calculates is needed to achieve the desired temp. With rims you would just use Mash heat profile.
