So if your dryer outlet is 240 volts and you're using a 1200 watt heating element then:

I = 1200/240
= 5 Amps...

rmullins is correct, that's my hop strainer. There's a 1-gallon paint straining bag attached to the bottom and that's what my hops go in. It worked...
