No, they were full kegs. I cut them off at appx 10-11 gal. I don't need anything bigger than that for the mash tun and sparge water. It makes the mash tun easier to clean and I can pour hot water up...

Thats how I've bottled for years. Typically 1-1/2 to 1-3/4 cups light dme, 2 cups water, boil, add to bottling bucket.

I felt the same way about priming sugar when I first started brewing.

right now, it gets composted, but next year, we're getting chickens. I will feed some of it to them. I figure on spreading it out on the driveway to dry out, then put it in a bucket to feed them from.

Doing a 10gal batch of my signature pale. I'm gonna use a WLP001 in one fermenter and WLP051 (the yeast I normally use in this recipe) in the other fermenter.
