Missing my temps.....

I have missed my mash in temps on my last two brews. Using iBrewmaster as usual...... I've been about 10 degrees too low. Thoughts/suggestions??

27 hrs.....

27 hours and no activity....... used a washed Pacman I had from a prior batch, made a starter even, but nothing!!

Should I pull the trigger and throw in my S-05 back up?!?!?! Never had this...

Staged brewing

Does anyone brew in stages?? I have been crazy busy lately and can't get a full 5-6 hours to brew. I'm considering doing it in stages: mash/make wort one day, boil and pitch another. Thoughts?

Yeast age

So I have a bunch of yeast in my fridge..... Some is harvested and washed from past brews, some is still in the original smack pack. Both examples have been there for about 9 months as things came...

Moving to 10 gallons!!

Finally moving up to 10 gallon batches!! Do my boils increase at all?? How does that change the OG?? If I only boil for 1 hour then my batch would be less concentrated than if I boil a 5 gallon...

Easy way I did it when starting was just mash with 1.25 quarts per pound. Then sparge with whatever volume you need to get your preboil volume.

So if you get 4 gallons from your mash then sparge...

I like the idea of the IV drip!!! I would try D5W at KVO to start. As far as carbing is concerned, maybe you know someone that kegs and you could force carb it.

You know, I do sometimes fill the mill hopper full and mill because I am alone. Sometimes my wife or buddy will slowly pour in the grain as I mill......hhmmmmm. Thanks so much everyone!

Straining/filtering

Made a blueberry wheat using 2 1/2 pounds of boiled then muddled blueberries in the secondary. I had a difficult time trying to strain through a funnel/strainer and went with a SS mesh kitchen...
