heat mash water

Heat mash water to 171F and add to grain that is 65 or soF (room temperature) and you will mash at 154 F after stirring in any balls. cover with foil or aluminum tray and you will be golden.

aluminum foil or aluminum sheet tray

I made an aluminum tray with slits cut in it with a small peeling knife. It sits on the grain when mashing and does the job regarding heat loss.

I use an extreme cooler with heavier walls and I made a blue foam insert that fills the cup holders and a 1 inch blue foam cover insulates the top even more. I preheat my cooler with hot sparge water...

I would take your bottles and add 1 level teaspoon corn sugar per bottle and take tweezers and drop 2 -4 small dry yeast granules in each bottle to bring fresh yeast into play for high gravity beer....

I would bitter with a know hop like Super Galena and use these as aroma hops in the usual amount. Then you will know what aromas you have on hand. Personally I would dry them on a screen for 2-3...

I use a nylon paint strainer bag and a butcher cord to put my oats into so they can sit in mash tun near the centre so I have no issues when I sparge. It makes cleanup a breeze. Good luck.
