BU:GU Ratio Accuracy/Helpfulness

I have been looking over the BU:GU ratios and I understand the concept. What I don't understand is where different styles fall on the chart. To me, an IPA is more bitter and less sweet than a IIPA....

Not that it couldn't be the priming sugar, but I have had this problem before as well, and it was infection. Bacteria eating the sugars that the yeast can't. Hopefully you fixed the problem.

This is what happened with mine at bottling. It's currently sitting in the bottle waiting to be dranked. I'll report back with flavor in a couple weeks or so, but I am a bit nervous.
