submerging plate chiller

has anyone heard of submerging a plate chiller in a bucket of ice water to improve chilling, along with a pre chiller.

yeast washing

so i racked my beer to seconday about two weeks ago and still have the yeast cake in the primary which has been sealed at room temp is it to late to wash that yeast for future brews.

pressure release valve

i recently kegged a beer and after carbing i pulled the pressure release valve and it seemed to be leaking after i released it, the beer was also much foamier than usual, and after the keg was empty...

oak aging

if i wanted to oak age a stout can i simply drop the oak cubes into the carboy at the end of secondary fermantation, or do i have to place the cubes in an empty carboy and rack the beer onto them?

its a kit from midwest brewing, its awesome, i added the honey at 45 mins in the 60 min boil, last time it was a little sweet, but still great, and i use all the hops provided.
