I like stouts, but somehow I feel the black malts...

I like stouts, but somehow I feel the black malts and their burnt/acrid acidity would not help me asses the nature of the smoke malt itself and would get lost.

Even thought they don't care much...

My LHBS sells flaked corn at $1.80/lb, his cheapest 2-row is at $1.45/lb.

I thought corn was used partly to lighten the body, partly to bring down costs, but if I can't find something...
