Not sure about your legal question, but as a consumer if saw a bottle with a rubber band holding the label on I would certainly choose a different brand. You might want to rethink this.

I'd say they were from the bottle. No way they could live from the grain, through the mash then through the boil. At least they died happy.

Yes, there is always a protective oxide layer.

But once it's formed, it takes something major to remove it. You can store your pot with lid on as usual.

If all grain, 1.020 might be as low as you can get depending on your mash.

You aren't in danger of fusels at this point.

Did you end up with a FG in the 1.020 - 1.025 range?
Also did you use any lactose or maltodextrin in the beer? Those make a significant impact for mouth feel in stouts.

I think they are referring to the wort you add to the starter, not the whole batch. You definitely want to aerate the large volume of wort.

Is this a lager? If so, my oktoberfest's (lager) ferment really slowly for a while. If they are actual bubbles, I would expect them to be CO2.
