Oktoberfest - Light or Dark Munich?

Making this today and putting together my grain bill, but not sure if I should use 5lbs of light or dark Munich grain.

Yeah probably, I honestly don't know I assumed that they didn't come with booster anymore. Anyways good advice, I'll just give him the bottles and new valve blah blah blah :) I got beer to bottle ;)

Mine too kind of, lucky for me I caught it. I made a blackberry mead and a pineapple/orange mead in the jaom style. The pineapple is fine but checking it this morning the blueberry had bubbled up...

I'm confused, how did you handle the temp drop? You should of added your grains to a temperature of like 160. What was the temp after you mashed in!?

I think most brewers agree now that secondary is totally unnecessary unless you're doing some fruit or really high gravity beer. Needless risk of infection.

First Brew using grains *pic heavy*

Brewing an Americanized Irish Red Ale using Cascade hops, steeping grains and LME, time to do more and more on. I like doing small batches and used my LBKS (hush)

This was a little bit beyond me...

Has anyone made both the extract and the AG versions of this? What were the taste differences between them? Also is Wyeast 1332 the preferred yeast to use?

Done this before as well, might be a oops moment, but is perfectly fine. It's also quite normal for seriously heavy beers to re-aerate again after 12 hours of fermenting.

MrBeer has been great, just follow the forum members suggestion and it's a quick cheap way to start, you're not doing much else then making smaller batches of anything you'd be doing extract wise...

Yeah I've since learned from the owner of Wyeast that a slow push for 1 minute is the best way to do it and slow is better then fast.
