Bring in a copy of the statute and check with the location. I don't think many places will want to take chances with their liquor license, but if you can argue what the statute says you never know...

I've gotten responses to an email about their pale ale. I can dig that up later if you want an idea of their hopping but one thing they did say was you'll always regret not dry hopping a hoppy beer...

Your beer will always look darker in bulk than it will once finished and in your glass. If you pull out a sample it will probably be more like what you're expecting.
