I thought last year had a pretty late start, but...

I thought last year had a pretty late start, but it worked out OK, I guess. Personally, I wouldn't be up for it this year either, but I'm thinking 2015 looks promising!

I just checked my notes, and I bottled this just shy of 3 months, and it was easily drinkable at that time...it has aged well also.

FWIW, though, most of my mead is ready in far less than 6...

I would say that more accurately, poorly fermented mead = paint thinner (fuesel alcohols), but time indeed does heal a lot of wounds... So does backsweetening! I would consider stabilizing your mead...

You can leave in primary for a long time with no ill effect...I would wait until it is almost totally cleared before moving it. The floating stuff might eventually drop once the active fermentation...

I did a "Belgeglin" mead once using bitter orange peel and coriander seed and Wyeast 3711...came out great even unhopped, but now that you mention it, it would be great with dry hops as well! not...
