Bacteria can't crawl up the side of your bucket and jump into your wort. AS long as it was covered to block anything falling into it, you'll be fine.

If you left the pot partially uncovered you should be ok. I think it's almost impossible to have the pot covered during the entire boil without having constant boilovers.
