I want to Lager - but....

....I want to do it economically. I'd be brewing lager extact kits. Is there a "cheap" way to do this? Should I just go out and buy a used fridge?

I brewed a Kolsch kit and transferred it the other day into a secondary carboy.

It smelled a little cidery. Is that normal for a Kolsch?

Just picked up a Hefe extract kit. I've heard you don't have to rack into a secondary - just leave it in a primary for 7-10 days and then bottle.

Two questions:

1. Is this ok?

2. Won't...

Don't laugh - very new to homebrewing....

I have packets of C-Brite that state "no rinse". How can this be true? I would think you'd want to rinse anyway?
