I have two march pumps. Just used a threaded TC fitting to connect to the pumps. The inlet and outlet of the pump are smaller than an inch (can't remember exactly, 1/2" maybe), but it works fine.

I used 1" TC's throughout the build. They work quite well. Hoses larger than 1" can start to get mighty expensive. I used 3/4" silicone hose and squeezed it over the top of a 1" TC hose barb.
