Recommended? YesI have this in my Igloo Mash Tun. I have never had a stuck sparge. My extract efficiency are always over 75%
Pros: Great for filtering Hops
Cons: Hard to clean out any particles that make it through and get stuck inside.
Recommended? YesI have the Bazooka T in my boil kettle and I think that it works great! I use both pellet and whole hops and it works really well with the combination of the two types, not too great for pellet only brews. One down fall is it is kind of annoying to try and get the particles that get stuck inside out. I would recomend this to anyone who is looking for an alternative to a false bottom.
Pros: Industrial duty, Works great
Cons: Will cut the crap out of you reaching into your sanitizer to retrieve it.
Recommended? YesI use one in my Mash Tun and one in my Wort Kettle. Never had a stuck sparge. Keeps the big stuff out of my pump and everything running smooth. Does not get out all of the hot break or cold break or hop pellets but it is great for sparging and reducing solids before racking. I rack through mine also.
Pros: Awsome at straining out leaf hops
Cons: Has a hard time with pellet hops
Recommended? YesI use this in my brew kettle to strain out hops. It works great with whole hops. No matter how many hops I have added it was able to let the wort flow and keep out the hops. It will not stop pellet hops. It is very solid and well made. It is a great addition to you brew kettle. Would also work in the mash tun I would guess.
